Skipskompetanse secures design contract of live fish carrier no.12
October 14, 2024
Rostein AS has signed a contract for a new live fish carrier, the 12th with Skipskompetanse design.

This new contract takes the long-standing collaboration between Rostein AS, Larsnes Mek Verksted and Skipskompetanse, and several other key suppliers a step further, where as always, the goal is to deliver the world’s best live fish carrier.

With the security of a contract from Lovundlaks Sjø, Kvarøy Fiskeoppdrett, Seløy Sjøfarm and Kobbvåglaks, Rostein AS can initiate the construction of this new live fish carrier that is being built at Larsnes Mek Verksted AS.

The new build is based on the latest delivery of live fish carriers, Ro Senja, and will as the previous designs be equipped with battery, diesel-electric propulsion and will carry the design designation SK 6000 DEH V.

For Skipskompetanse, this new build with a tank capacity of 3700 m3 means the 12th live fish carrier design for Rostein and secures substantial work in designing the project and implementing changes to ensure it meets new requirements and performs as expected.

The project also provides a significant boost to Norwegian and local businesses, with many of the involved companies being Norwegian and based in the Northwest of Norway.

Congratulations to our member Skipskompetanse AS for their 12th design for Rostein AS!
We look forward to following this project and are pleased that a well-established collaboration continues and ensures activity for many local suppliers.
