Offshore project secures great activity at Trollebø
August 11, 2020

The subsea supplier TechnipFMC will the coming weeks use the port at Trollebø as a logistics base to store and transport oil pipes and other equipment for the Duva oil and gas field in the North Sea.

– This is a contract we have been working on for a long time and will generate a lot of activity the coming weeks, and Pelagia has been helpful with providing space for the project, says the director of Nordfjord Havn, Kjell Fagna. This project is a part of a contract between TechnipFMC and Neptun Energy.

A number of covers have already arrived at Trollebø and these will be used to protect oil pipelines and other subsea installations. This is the first offshore project Nordfjord Havn has been involved with since 2008, and other local companies will experience increased activity because of this contract. The local shipyards and suppliers of equipment are able to support with deliveries and help on short notice.

The project will last until mid-September and vessels like Deep Explorer will go in and out of the harbour throughout this period.
Simen Westlie at TechnipFMC states that the reason Måløy was chosen for this project was because we wanted the flexibility a smaller port can offer, as opposed to a busier port.
